Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (Digital Technology and Computational Design) - (240000KD)

The School of Architecture is seeking an outstanding candidate to make significant contributions to research and teaching of Digital Technology and Computational Design, expanding ongoing explorations in design for robotic construction and innovation in the construction industry.


The appointees will advance an individual research agenda focused on academic contributions and experimental applications, building research collaborations within the University and beyond.


Applicants should (i) have a PhD degree in a subject area relevant to architecture, digital design or other related areas OR (ii) a professional Master’s degree in architecture and not less than 4 years (with professional registration) or 6 years (without professional registration) of practical experience in architecture thereafter.


Applicants with international recognition in the field will be highly appreciated. Preference will be given to candidates with an excellent record of studio teaching and research.

Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to performance, funding availability and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. Outstanding candidates may be considered for substantive appointment upon initial appointment.

Executive Officer II(s) / Project Co-ordinator II(s) - (250000H0)

The appointee will handle programme and course administration, which includes supporting accreditation preparation and new programme development, assisting in programme planning and budgeting, providing committee services, handling timetabling exercises, grade submission, data analysis, and student cases, and co-ordinating admissions processes (including promotional activities). He / She will also manage programme initiatives and events, such as overseeing student exchange programmes and scholarships, and organising events, such as reviews, exhibitions, conferences, etc.


Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo (for Executive Officer II); (iii) at least 4 years’ relevant post-qualification executive experience, preferably in programme administration, project management or event organisation; (iv) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; (v) strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills; (vi) the ability to work independently and under pressure; and (vii) proficient computer skills. Those with less but at least 2 years’ experience may be considered for appointment as Project Co-ordinator II. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Technician (Workshop) - (250000IP)

As a member of the technical team, the appointee will be responsible for (a) assisting in the operation of tools and equipment in the Wood Workshop, preparing and updating operational manuals, learning and upgrading the basic knowledge of equipment operation, and keeping the equipment in good order; (b) providing support to students, preparing a proper working environment for postgraduate/undergraduate students, and providing trainings to students on the use of the workshop; (c) assisting in workshop management, managing workshop renovation, bookkeeping of accessories and tools, and setting up a proper working environment; (d) managing routine workshop duties, checking and maintaining daily usage of general facilities in good order; and (e) handling purchasing matters, such as preparing purchasing documents for the procurement of new equipment, tools and consumables; and (f) undertaking other tasks as assigned by the School Director or his/her delegate.


Applicants should have (i) a Higher Diploma/Higher Certificate or above; (ii) at least 3 years’ related work experience; and (iii) good communication skills in both Chinese and English.
