Introduction

Jimmy Ho is a multidisciplinary designer and researcher focusing on redesigning processes for well-being and communities. He received his Bachelor's degree in 2012 and Master’s degree in 2014 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since then, he completed a range of projects from small-scale exhibitions to urban-level redevelopment. He co-designed the opening exhibition, Tai Kwun 100, for the Centre of Heritage and Arts which received international awards including Frame Award and Design For Asia Award in 2018. His expertise in architectural design, interior design, exhibition design, project management and curatorial management has enabled him to participate in a wide range of projects, including architectural restoration, countryside regeneration and community engagement as research co-investigators.

In 2023, he received his doctoral degree with his dissertation titled, Redesigning and Evaluating Primary School Spaces for Wellbeing in Hong Kong: A Systematic Approach. A participatory product-process-performance model is proposed and adopted to co-create architectural redesign schemes with stakeholders in a real-world setting. Using quantitative methods, the impact of the redesigned physical environment on the well-being of students is measured and evaluated as to support the redesign ideas.
