Prof. Kristof Crolla and MArch 2 student Celia Yeh showcase their research projects on bending-active structures in "Craft: The Reset" (preview), an exhibition focusing on different ways that crafts are applied in contemporary design. Both installations are digitally generated: Crolla’s Bending Rules is a continuation of his research on bending-active structures to illustrate future architectural design directions, whereas Yeh’s Windsor House Climbing Wall investigates the possibility of adding light-weight bending-active material systems onto multi-level vertical surfaces and the aesthetic opportunities of introducing singularities into the structure’s topology.

"Craft: The Reset" is the second major exhibition of Design Society in Shenzhen. It features more than 100 large-scale works that explore craft not only as a technique but also as a creative impulse for future innovation, reinvigorating craft as an interface to engage with larger themes in contemporary society.
