Location Rome

A group of MArch and BSSc students travelled to Rome for a one-week intensive study field trip during the summer of 2022. Students were introduced to the city, history and culture of Rome, its urban form as well as its historical and modern architecture.

Led by Prof. David Dernie, students spent the week walking and drawing the city and its buildings, gardens and public spaces. The walks were designed as an introduction to the Western architecture from Ancient Rome to the Fascist reshaping of the city, culminating in contemporary buildings by Piano and Hadid.
