Gustav Düsing(*1984) studied architecture at the Architectural Association in London and runs a studio in Berlin. He has participated in numerous art and architecture exhibitions including the first ever Antarctic Biennale (2017). He is the 2020 recipient of the Rome Prize for Architecture and currently is an Artist in Residence at the German Academy in Rome, Villa Massimo.

As an Assistant Professor of architecture, he taught a master-studio in experimental design at the Technical University Braunschweig (2015 – 2019) and since 2015 he holds a teaching position at the UDK Berlin. Throughout his work at the intersection of art and architecture, Gustav Düsing explores the translation of natural phenomena into spatial concepts with the aim of finding new ways for architecture to interfere with environments that are increasingly under strain by humanity’s modes of habitation.
