Professor Edward Ng has been awarded a prestigious Croucher Advanced Study Institutes (ASI) 2024-25 grant of HK$572K by the Croucher Foundation to host a three-day high-level workshop that delves into the subject of "Ground-based LiDAR Networks" for urban environmental studies.

An ASI is a high-level course that provides an in-depth exploration of a specific subject. Its purpose is to promote knowledge exchange and facilitate global scientific cooperation and networking.

This will be Professor Ng's third Croucher ASI. In 2011, he hosted an ASI on "Urban Climatology for Tropical and Sub-Tropical Regions," and in 2015, he led an ASI on "Changing Urban Climate & the Impact on Urban Thermal Environment and Urban Living."
