The Shilin Market 3.1

The project investigates how adaptive reuse and architectural intervention can subtly yet significantly improve the notorious scandals of the Shilin night market and reinforce community cohesion. By scouring voices from news and stakeholders, the project responds with new master planning and open-ground-floor sectional strategy. The project also carefully considers the various changing scenarios, catering to multiple users and timings. It is hoped that the project will set up a paradigm for future development of the underground night market and community facilities in the vernacular context in Taiwan.
