The Gradient City: Street reimagined for creating cultural identity in a New Town
"Gradient City" is located in the planned Tung Chung East new town. Taking the third generation of new towns as reference, the project looks into master planning and architectural strategy to tackle the issue of a diminishing cultural identity. Streets are evidently the foundation for the growth of culture, hence "Gradient City" sets out to lateralise the typology of municipal building, hoping to reconnect the street network and open spaces while cultivating a vibrant “place”.
