The CHA — Chinese Herbal Tea Tower in Lan Kwai Fong

The CHA is a Chinese herbal tea tower in LKF that promotes slow-living in the busy financial hub. Through back-and-forth production of drawings and models, every part of the tower was developed into spaces that encourage detoxing with tea. “We live under Chinese herbal tea for silence, patience and health. The pace of lives is calmed by the stop-motion of the interweaving water and herbs all over The CHA.” In reference to the “tea houses” in the 1950s, The CHA is an attempt in assimilating the core activities of LKF such as dancing and drinking with detoxing. In The CHA, we walk SLOW, dance SLOW, and drink SLOW. Alcohol is not prohibited, but the priority is detoxing.
