CUHK architecture alumnus and faculty members present their shortlisted/highlighted entries of the Hong Kong Young Architects & Designers Competition 2017, launched by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority to call for design proposals of a temporary pavilion as a public space for talks, workshops and performances.


Thomas Chee received his MArch degree from CUHK and won the RIBA President’s Silver Medal 2016 – the first Hong Kong student to have been awarded this prestigious prize. He is currently Design Architect at Boötes Ltd. Kristof Crolla is Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture, CUHK. He founded the Hong Kong and Antwerp-based Laboratory for Explorative Architecture & Design Ltd (LEAD). Adam Fingrut is Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture, CUHK, with a research focus on computational design and building systems. He previously worked with Zaha Hadid Architects. Emidio Piermarini received his Master of Engineering degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and is Senior Structural Engineer with BuroHappold Engineering. Paul Tse is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture, CUHK. He co-founded New Office Works in Hong Kong and New York, and previously worked with Adjaye Associates in London.
