Global frameworks such as the UNSDG and the New Urban Agenda bring awareness to pressing urban issues and align actors across different sectors and geographies. However, grounding these concepts and implementing in practice remains a challenge beyond discussions at a surface level.

This architecture lecture series sets forth to see design as a verb, with a capacity to make transformative changes.

Be it at the scale of individual buildings or regional strategies, the common concern is how architecture and urban design projects contribute to the social, cultural, and environmental issues of society nowadays. Recognising how connected we are, impactful projects in specific location would have a greater global influence.

This lecture series brings together scholars and practitioners to share their experiences in designing for change from different parts of the world. It provides a platform for engaged discussions with speakers, faculties and students - an opportunity to re-think our role as architects and designers in the face of contemporary urban challenges.

All non-CUHK participants are required to register.
