The Africa Lab Sustainable Conditions Symposium aims to connect like-minded academics, professionals and business people through community sustainable projects.

Date 12-13.06.2023

Location CUHK School of Architecture; Zoom

The Africa Lab Sustainable Conditions Symposium aims to connect like-minded academics, professionals and business people through community sustainable projects. This two-day event will explore sustainability through various lenses: Social, Cultural, Environmental, Health, Public and Educational. The focus will be Africa, a continent where new forms of sustainable thinking can radically improve living conditions.

By presenting existing and potential projects the symposium aims to generate synergies between experts from different fields, with the purpose to establish an Africa Lab network of collaborators, a platform where knowledge and opportunities are shared, with the ambition to define an Africa Lab Charter.

Participants will present projects, completed and potential, highlighting ideas that question and challenge our notion of sustainability. Resources, traditions, authenticity, community, human energy… the sustainable lexicon belongs to the people, in this light - how can design facilitate more sustainable living? The Sustainable Condition Symposium is a public event, open to anybody interested in exploring issues of Sustainability. We welcome all to register and join the event in person and online.
