CUHK alumnus Derrick Leong(MArch 2018) and student Annie Long (BSSc Year 2) have won the City Dress-up Design Competition, and their work “Lift Up Kowloon East” was completed recently.
To give the columns of the Kwun Tong Bypass a new look, the team designed 30 huge murals featuring people from different walks of life and capturing the ever-changing sceneries of the district. These murals forge a stronger identity for the Promenade, transforming the public space under the Bypass into a more vibrant one.
The City Dress-up Design Competition - Flyover Fantasy Re-run was organised by the Development Bureau of the HKSAR Government, with co-organisers including the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP) and Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design (HKIUD). It was supported by the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
