CUHK architecture graduate Sianne Lau Sze-ngai (BSSc 2019) has been awarded Merit Recognition at the Smart City Series Design Competition, jointly organised by the AIA Hong Kong, HKIA and RIBA (HK) to promote creative, sustainable design of street furniture in the digital age.
In Sianne’s proposal, “TELE. TRANSFORMER”, abandoned telephone booths in Hong Kong are transformed into mobile hawker stalls, incorporated with foldable tables and drawers for eating, drinking, storage, sale, planting and cooking. The idea was modified from her design exercise in U6 Design Studio – Comprehensive Building Design, supervised by Prof. Sebastian Law.
