CUHK Master of Architecture alumni Wilson Lee (MArch 2003), Vince Yiu (MArch 2010) and Vickie Ma (MArch 2016) receive prizes at the Wan Chai Community Green Station (CGS) Design Idea Competition.

Organised by the Environmental Protection Department in partnership with the Architectural Services Department, the Competition called for functional and innovative architectural design proposals for the Wan Chai CGS, a community centre for recycling support and environmental education that would improve urban streetscape and connectivity to the surrounding areas.

While Lee and Yiu’s “Re-creation Ground” receives second prize in the Professional Group, which was open to qualified architects, engineers, town planners and urban designers, Ma’s “Urban Back Garden” is also awarded the second prize in the Open Group.

In recent years, the Hong Kong SAR Government has been developing CGSs around the city to promote green culture and collect different types of recyclables in the local community.
