The design of public housing in Hong Kong has always been a top-down process. This project suggests a gamified participatory design approach, which enables residents to take part in the design process. Using a board game as a platform, players are subject to certain rules formulated by the designers, and place functional boxes according to their roles. Through negotiations and transactions, residents will eventually reach a community design that meets diverse social needs.
