Architecture of our time is immersed in a visual culture saturated by instant gratification. The experience and success of a project are encapsulated by one image and how many “likes” it solicits. This term at CUHK School of Architecture, we pause to reconsider what it means to be slow by thinking about and committing to the process of design, research and practice, with a lecture series featuring local and overseas architects, academics and experts.

  • “Essay and Architecture”, by Zhang Ming of Tongji University, Shanghai (Thursday, 26 October 2017)
  • “CUHK Design Entries to WKCDA Temporary Pavilion Competition”, by Thomas Chee, Kristof Crolla, Adam Fingrut, Emidio Piermarini and Paul Tse, Hong Kong (Thursday, 2 November 2017)
  • “Walking with Gaudí”, by Mireia Massagué of Gaudí Exhibition Centre and Pere Jordi Figuerola Rotger of Gaudí Research Institute, Barcelona (Thursday, 9 November 2017)
